How to Access and View Videos in Panopto

Panopto is KPSOM's video platform for lecture recordings, training videos, and other educational content. This guide will walk you through accessing Panopto and viewing videos shared with you.

Accessing Panopto

  1. Navigate to the Panopto login page
    Go to https://kpmd.hosted.panopto.com/ in your web browser.

  2. Sign in with your KP credentials
    Click Login with SSO (Preferred), then click Sign in. You'll be prompted to enter your KP NUID and password to authenticate.

Finding and Viewing Videos

  1. Open the navigation tray
    Once you're logged in, click the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the upper-left corner to expand the navigation tray. This will show you folders, shared content, and other video collections you have access to.

  2. Browse or search for a video
    You can browse through folders in the navigation tray, or use the search bar at the top of the page to find specific videos by title or keyword. Click on any video thumbnail or title to open it.

Using the Video Player

  1. Control playback with the video player
    Once a video opens, you'll see the player controls at the bottom of the screen. Here's what you can do:

    • Play/Pause: Click the play button to start or pause the video
    • Playback speed: Adjust the speed (0.5x to 2x) to watch faster or slower
    • Volume: Control audio level or mute
    • Captions: Turn on closed captions if available
    • Quality: Change video quality based on your connection speed
    • Fullscreen: Expand the video to fill your screen

 Tip: You can also use keyboard shortcuts! Press the spacebar to play/pause, or use the arrow keys to skip forward and backward.
