Welcome to the home of KP School of Medicine Technology Services (KPSOM IT)!
This website is intended not just to be how our Faculty, Students, and Staff communicate with KPSOM IT, but also as an avenue to connect you to subject matter experts for related services and specialty areas throughout the school.
Getting in Touch with KPSOM IT
First and foremost, how can you get in touch with KPSOM IT?
- Email: Email kpsomit@kp.org, and a request will be opened automatically!
- In Person: Our Client Services team is located at the Technology Bar on the 2nd floor of the academic building (98 S Los Robles Ave) from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday!

Email is typically the fastest, most convenient way of getting in touch with our team. We do our best to respond promptly and triage requests for urgency and impact as we receive them.
When opening a new request, you will receive an automatic acknowledgment of your message, the way it appears in our system (so you can validate and/or provide additional context), and a request number for your records (and ours).
After Hours Support from KP IT
While the KPSOM IT team is available from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the KP IT National Service Desk is available 24/7 to help! The Service Desk team can support questions regarding Office365, HealthConnect, NUID login, and many other issues related to your KP account or KP services.

Who is KPSOM IT?
The KPSOM IT team is dedicated to supporting the Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine (KPSOM) by providing comprehensive IT services and solutions.
This team is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of technology within the school, including technology governance, managing academic and administrative systems, supporting events, and providing technical assistance to faculty, staff, and students. The KPSOM IT team focuses on integrating technology with the institution's goals, fostering innovation and collaboration.
How are you different from KP IT?
The enterprise KP IT team serves the broader Kaiser Permanente organization, including various medical centers and administrative offices.
The KP IT team is responsible for delivering IT solutions that support healthcare delivery, patient management, and overall organizational efficiency. This team handles a wide range of IT services, from infrastructure management to application development and support, ensuring that all technology needs across the organization are met

Each service page in the catalog includes an overall service description, who it is available to, how to access the service, how much it costs, and who to contact in the event you have questions or need support.

Learn about the SOM IT Team and our Policies, Procedures, and Standards
Kaiser Permanente can sometimes be a daunting place to navigate; information can be widely dispersed, and unless you already know where to go it's easy to get lost! Our policies and standards pages will grow over time and be a self-service resource for our community to find and learn about our guiding principles.
Through this portal we will also be highlighting the individual contributors on our team, elaborating on our structure, and shedding some light and color on how our department works and what services we provide to whom.
