Integrating Panopto with Microsoft Teams lets you access your video recordings directly within Teams, automatically import meeting recordings to your Panopto library, and browse Panopto content without switching apps. Here's how to set it up.
Install the Panopto App in Teams
Step 1: Open Microsoft Teams and click the Apps button in the bottom-left corner of your screen.
Step 2: In the search box, type Panopto and select the Panopto app from the results.
Step 3: Click the Add button to install Panopto to your Teams workspace.
Sign In to Panopto
Step 4: When the Panopto app opens, click Sign In to authenticate using your KPSOM credentials.
Step 5: Enter your NUID and password on the single sign-on page, then click Sign On.
Step 6: You'll be taken to the Panopto home screen within Teams, where you can browse your videos and folders.
Complete the Integration
Step 7: To enable automatic recording imports, click Settings in the Panopto app.
Step 8: Click the Authenticate button to connect your Teams account with Panopto.
Step 9: Enter your KP email address and click Next to complete the authentication.
Step 10: You'll see the Panopto Integration Settings screen, which shows your personal recordings and Teams channels.
Important notes about recording imports:
- Personal recordings: Only recordings that you initiate will be imported to your Panopto account. If someone else starts the recording in a meeting you attend, it won't automatically appear in your Panopto library.
- Channel recordings: On the left side of the settings screen, you'll see all Teams channels you're a member of. To import recordings from a specific channel, click that channel and follow the same authentication steps. This will import existing channel recordings and any future recordings initiated through that channel.
- Storage location: By default, all imported meeting recordings are stored in My Folder/Meeting Recordings in your Panopto account.
